Merrimac Goes Back to School
Join us for our annual Merrimac Goes Back to School event! Classrooms at both schools will be open from 2-3 pm to meet the teachers and see the classrooms. Preschool and Kindergarten open house will be held during this time.
Local vendors will be set up in the Sweetsir Cafeteria from 2-4 pm. These include representatives from local sports programs, scout troops, the Merrimac Library, police department, fire department, and more!
Kindergarten playground meetup
All incoming Kindergarten families are invited to the Sweetsir playground on August 20 from 10-11 am to meet classmates and other families. The PTO will provide snacks. Come play and meet some new friends!

What is the Holiday Light Tour?
This is a special event where families and friends can drive through our neighborhoods and enjoy the dazzling lights and holiday displays. It’s a wonderful way to bring joy to our community while supporting our school!

Merrimac Goes Back to School Event
Join us from 2-4 for a back to school event. Students can meet their teachers from 2-3 at their school. They may then go to the Sweetsir from 3-4pm and see what extra curricular activities the surrounding towns have to offer, as well as mingle with friends.

Please join us for Merrimac PTO’s annual Ice Cream Social. This will be held at the Sweetsir School’s Playground Area. Which teacher will win the golden scoop this year?!

Royal Ball
Come one, come all, the Queens of the Merrimac P.T.O have declared that there should be a royal ball. A royal DJ, fancy photo booth, and a feast of sweet treats will all be presented to the Princes, and Princesses of the Merrimac Kingdom. Event will be held at the Frederick N. Sweetsir Castle.
Formal Attire is Invited. Entry is $10/Person
This is not a drop off event. All school rules and policies apply.

The Merrimac PTO will host a montly bookstore during school lunches at the Donaghue, and at the end of the school day at the Sweetsir. Books range from $1-$6.

Brunch with the Grinch
10:30 The PTO Brunch...
4:00, wallow in self-pity. 4:30, stare into the abyss. 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one. 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me. I can't cancel that again. 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing. I'm booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9, I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling, and slip slowly into madness...
Come hang with our favorite green guy and let your heart grow three sizes while you enjoy refreshments and hear the story read by the man himself and a special guest!

Hocus Pocus Dance
Join us for a fun Halloween Dance Party! Come dance the night away with your friends.
This is not a drop off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Dressing up in costume is optional, but encouraged!
Cost is $10 per person, or $30 per family.

Merrimac Goes Back To School
Merrimac Goes Back to School will be held at the Sweetsir School on 8/31/23 from 2-4pm. Students will have a chance to visit their new classroom from 2-3pm, with the exception of Kindergarten which will meet their teacher outdoors in the courtyard. Kindergarten students will see their classroom during their orientation day. All children must be accompanied to their classroom by an adult. More details to come as the event gets closer!
